It is that time of year when everyone seems to be busy making things and many clubs, manufacturers and retailers are preparing for the North of England Woodworking show in Harrogate 17-19th November.
This show, has been running for many years and is, I think, the largest of its kind in the UK. The new building certainly makes life a lot more comfortable and provides more space, adding another nice layer to what is already a good show.
We are readying show stock, sorting out transportation and all the other logistics of what, where, when and by whom. I am not sure people wholly realise the cost and also the time quake that such events cause. But let me tell you the organisation and all the other items connected to it, impact on many things and it is always a delicate balancing act to get all the things to come together at the right time. I will be at the show, so come and say hello.
On a different note, my workshop reorganization is coming along nicely but still too slow for my liking. Yes I know we all want more space, but the reality is that we rarely can have it so we have to make the most of what we have. Everyone tries new things and ‘adjusts’ workshop space over time as a necessity as one works on new things or buys something else. What space saving ideas have you used in your workshops?
Anyway, I have to get some of the magazine processing done before the show loading and travel and such like occurs next week. I will catch up with you all soon.
