Hello! Well, this will be my last blog before I head off on my holiday at the end of next week. Things have been pretty crazy since Miriam left – the former deputy editor on F&C and Woodcarving magazines - so, I have had to pick up the slack and work across all of the titles. As I have said before, this has allowed me to learn a lot about all of the woodworking disciplines, not just turning. So in that respect, it has been very useful.

Mark and I have been trying to frantically finish issue 253 before my holiday and we"ve done very well. A big thank you to our designer, Claire, who has done a fantastic job in designing the pages in record speed. We"re almost there, and as always, it"s a team effort. We"ve got some exciting projects and profiles coming up in this issue, so stay tuned for more details in a few weeks" time. I can"t give away all the juicy details just yet! What are your thoughts on issue 251? We hope you"re enjoying it and making some of the projects featured.

Mark is at the South East Woodworking Show today, and Editor of Woodworking Plans & Projects, Anthony Bailey, along with Deputy Editor Simon Frost will be there over the weekend. Do go and say hello; we"re always very pleased to meet our readers! Woodturning demonstrators present at the show include Tony Wilson and Mick Hanbury - find out more details here.

OK, I"d best get on with the mountain of work on my desk, so I will bid you a good weekend! Apparently the temperatures are going to plummet next week, so make the most of your workshops while they"re still warm enough to use!

Happy turning!
