I had a wonderful time at the Harrogate woodworking show last weekend and think that Ken Salter did a great job in the organisation of it. I always find that there are always lots of questions asked, and that was certainly true in the demonstration area I was working in. Five rotations each day for Friday and Saturday and four on Sunday with extended Q&A sessions after each one.
I can tell you that I am well and truly pooped and am playing catch up on the emails and article writing that accumulate in my absence. That adrenalin rush of having tight deadlines, knowing how to juggle water fitting in workshop time for testing and cover shoots all before I set off for Ireland for the latter part of the week. No wonder I collapse into bed at the end of the day. I love it.
Seriously, though, the show was useful to the people who visited to ask questions about products and try before they buy. It is an ideal way to find out how something handles before you part with your hard earned money. I see it as a win-win situation for everyone.
I must admit to watching the forecast for this coming weekend. I heard mention of snow being likely. Deep joy! Well, since I will be at W H Raitt & Sons show at Stranorlar in Donegal, I will be in good company and in wonderful Ireland if I get stranded. Now where’s the nearest music event, I know there will be at least one nearby!
