Countdown to Harrogate!
Tuesday, November 16, 2010
I write this from a very cozy office where I am busy working away on issue 223, the February issue. Mark is currently at the workshop taking some important photos of projects for this issue, which include some of Sue Harker’s lovely projects made using a selection of British hardwoods.
So, how many of you are looking forward to The North of England Woodworking and Power Tool show at Harrogate this week? Mark will be there in person giving demonstrations on a variety of woodturning topics. I know that he is also looking forward to meeting a lot of the readers as well, so make sure you say hello! I’ve never been to this show myself but I know it is one of the biggest and best shows in the UK as far as woodturning is concerned.
I also heard that the G&S Timber show last weekend went very well – apparently over 400 woodworkers came through the doors. Fingers crossed that next year’s show will be bigger and better than ever.
On the subject of shows, next week (26-27 Nov) Mark will be jetting off to Ireland to appear at the W.H. Raitt show in Stranorlar, CO. Donegal. You can find out more about this show by clicking here
In other news, the flat hunting has been postponed until next year, much to my relief! At least now I will be able to enjoy Christmas and not have to worry about finding somewhere to live in the next five weeks!
As always, please feel free to send examples of your work or any correspondence to us here at Woodturning magazine – it is always great to hear from you.
Wrap up warm and make sure those heaters are on in your workshops!
