Norfolk loves Woodturning!
Tuesday, August 31, 2010
I hope you all had lovely bank holiday weekends? Unbelievably, the weather was actually nice, but it’s a shame that the same can’t be said for my holiday last week. Oh well.
The Norfolk Broads are lovely, but it did rain rather a lot! It didn’t help that the boat we were staying on leaked enormously, so all in all it was a bit of a damp experience! We did get out on the broads for a few days though and saw some beautiful countryside. The wildlife we saw was lovely and I could quite happily settle for one of the riverside mansions we saw! Dream on, Tegan.
We went to a village called Wroxham and I was very surprised to see copies of Woodturning magazine stocked on their shelves! In fact, all of the GMC Woodworking titles were there, so it seems that Norfolk like their woodworking! Similarly, we went to another small village called Potter Heigham and again found Woodturning on their shelves (albeit on the top shelf where it couldn’t be seen.) So, as you can see, work follows me everywhere – even when I’m on holiday!
I must say that it’s nice to be back, although today has mostly consisted of catching up with emails, getting the magazine back on track etc.
Mark is busy down the workshop making projects for this issue as well as photographing various items etc. I’m sure he’ll be back on Thursday to tell you about everything that’s been happening.
Also, I was really pleased to come back and discover that we now have over 180 people who are following us on Facebook. This has increased quite a lot while I’ve been away, so thank you to all of those who follow and support us.
Anyway, I had better get back to work as there is lots to do!
