Hello from Mark

Hello all,

I got back into work on Wednesday and am still playing catch up from my being away on holiday for a couple of weeks. I have come back older – it was my birthday while away – am somewhat tanned and saw places I had never been to before. It was a real treat. Mind you, I was somewhat of a sad sap as well. I have ended up taking over 200 images suitable for publications in our woodworking magazines while away too. I know what you are going to say, but it was a holiday, honest!

Seriously though, I have often commented that sometime we are all guilty of looking but not really seeing, and then even if we see something, not thinking it through and working/teasing the idea further. I have a wonderful pictorial reminder of where we went, but also reference shots for mulling over for future inspiration.

I know a lot of people are away at the moment and I do hope they have a great time. It is nice to take a break from the daily routine and see something fresh. I will post some pictures of what I saw on the forum for you to look at in a while after I have downloaded and sorted through the 2347 images taken. I will weed out the ones that haven’t worked and also label them first. Now where are those brochures and guides?

One of the strengths of the website is that we share. I have had a great time catching up with what has been posted and made whilst I have been away. Sterling and inventive items. Keep up the good work and have a nice weekend, even though it does look like it will be a wet one.

Note from Tegan: Hi all, apologies for crashing Mark’s blog, but it was brought to my attention that I posted an incorrect link for our Facebook page. Well, here it is again and I hope it works this time! Thank you again to all those who have joined our page and I really hope we can get 200 followers before the weekend is out!
