Good afternoon! So how are you all enjoying this lovely weather? I must say that it is hot and humid here and I am willing it to rain! Anyway, chances are it won’t last and I will be wearing a coat next week, so I suppose I should make the most of it.

I have a funny story to tell you this afternoon, after I’ve got a few formalities out of the way. Firstly, how many of you have checked out the Woodworkers Institute Facebook and Twitter pages? I hope many of you have, as both offer a brilliant way for you to keep up-to-date with the latest happenings from your favourite woodworking magazines. The pages are updated around three times a day and let you know about the latest products, articles, blog posts, news etc. that has been uploaded to the Woodworkers Institute. It’s a great way for you to make sure you don’t miss a thing.

Anyway, back to my funny story. I had the shock of my life last night when I got home and discovered broken glass on my decking. I instantly thought we’d been burgled, but luckily I was wrong. We have a walk-in wardrobe (not as glamorous as it sounds!) and a hanging rail in there for all our clothes (well, my boyfriend’s anyway, I’m lucky enough to have my own wardrobe!) So while I’d been at work the rail had collapsed, taken some of the ceiling with it, and in the process broken the bedroom window, hence the glass! I was quite shocked but then realised it wasn’t as bad as I initially thought. The good thing is that it is being fixed tomorrow, so hopefully that won’t be happening again! It was then I realised that I wished I possessed with basic DIY skills, but alas, I don’t! I’d better start reading Woodworking Plans & Projects magazine to pick up a few tips!

Anyway, I had better be off to update our Facebook and Twitter pages with some exciting news, but I hope to hear from you all soon! Also, why not upload your latest pieces to our Facebook page? It’s quick, easy and we’d love to see what you’ve all been up to.

Bye for now!

Tegan
