A bit of everything!

I hope you’ve all been having fun on y our latest turning projects since we last spoke? As I am always saying, (apologies!) it would be great to see what you have been up to. Why not email me your photos?
Anyway, all is going well on issue 219. We’ve made a few changes for this issue, in response to a letter that will be appearing in issue 218. On our projects, we will now be telling you just how long it takes to complete the project, and will also be giving you an idea of what you can expect to spend on timber, paint etc. We hope that this will be of use to you. Also, on our profiles, we will be asking the featured turner how long they spend on the finishing process – again, something some of you are eager to find out.
Also, for Arbortech fans out there: I just found out this morning that BriMarc are offering a number of autumn offers on their Arbortech range, so now’s the time to purchase that product you’ve been waiting to buy!
In other news, I am very busy at the moment trying to organise my boyfriend’s birthday – who knew it could be so stressful! One of the activities has already been planned – a trip to the Brighton sewers! I know this probably sounds like quite an unappealing idea, but apparently it is very interesting, albeit a bit smelly! I quite like the idea of exploring Victorian sewers and being underground – certainly something that we don’t do everyday! So, I hope he likes the surprise!
Anyway, I must get back to the current issue as there is lots to do while Mark is away. As we speak, I imagine Mark will be sunning himself somewhere hot – it’s alright for some! Still, I have my holiday on the Norfolk Broads to look forward to in a few weeks’ time.
Hope you all have a great weekend, and happy turning!
