Finishing touches

Good afternoon, and I am pleased to announce that we have sunshine, which is always welcome. I do find that I am generally a lot happier when the weather is nice, which hopefully others can relate to!

It has been a busy week despite the fact it has been a short one. I am currently looking through the proofs for issue 215, and ironing anything out that needs to be corrected or which could be improved upon etc.

I must say that seeing myself in print is a little embarrassing, but I do feel a surge of pride at the same time! I am going to be practising my turning skills again next week, when Mark and I – as I have mentioned before – will be in the workshop making some bottle stoppers for issue 216. I am a little nervous as obviously I am a complete novice, but it will be good to give it another try. We will be making these from mostly acrylic materials, so I’m intrigued to see how these will turn. Is it much different to turning wood? I don’t know, but I am eager to find out.

Mark assures me that they are easy enough to turn, but obviously this is coming from the Master himself! I will keep you updated on my progress next week!

Issue 216 is going well, and includes some top articles, features etc. I don’t want to give too much away, but we hope you enjoy what we’ve put together for you.

Claire – our designer – and I are just putting the finishing touches to Molly Winton’s profile, so I had better be off!

Enjoy the sunshine and remember to keep sending your latest creations in to us for inclusion in our readers’ gallery.
