Hello again! Just a quick post before I embark upon my woodturning course in Devon. Time has really flown by between now and when Mark told me I was going on the course quite a few months back – I cannot believe the time has finally come!

Anyway, I can’t deny that I am feeling a little nervous, but I suppose that is to be expected. I can’t believe I have never tried woodturning to this date, despite me working on the magazine for almost a year and a half, so I guess in that respect my course is a little overdue. Still, I’m sure Colin Simpson is a great teacher, but I also hope he is patient with me! I’m sure my nerves will settle after a few hours, and who knows, I might even enjoy it!

I will be staying in a lovely bed and breakfast in Devon, which is close to where Colin lives. I’m looking forward to going back to the country and getting away from the hustle and bustle for a few days.

Colin has advised me to take plenty of warm clothing: woolly jumpers, thick socks and sturdy shoes. I have a few of those items but I’m just going to wear lots of layers, take a supply of hot chocolate and I’m sure I will be OK!

Watch out for the write-up of my course in the next issue of the magazine, but I will post a blog when I return to give you a brief explanation of how I got on. Wish me luck and I’ll be in touch again when I return next week.

Bye for now!
