To many sharpening is a tricky subject to master, especially when starting out. Just like any technique, it requires practice to master but I also acknowledge that process of learning is coupled with a bit of frustration until one has. But let's face it: everyone strives to make the perfect cut.

There is satisfaction in a job well done. I get a sense of achievement and joy when things go well. Of course the flip side is that I get miffed when they don't. That is soon reversed back to sense of accomplishment when I solve the problem or rectify the error.
