In order to add an area of interest to the forums and to encourage interaction between the different forum sections, the forum members can post to our 'Members' Choice' thread to act as a showcase for a piece of work chosen by a member each week as their 'piece of the week'.
This weeks Members' choice is Ash canker pot by Les Symonds, and it was selected by Crataegus. He says:
"It's been a fairly quiet week with regard to new work being posted but that's a blessing in disguise, because it encouraged me to look at the Galleries and catch up with work that I have missed. My choice this week is the Ash Canker Pot, by Les Symonds. It has been turned from branchwood severely afflicted by canker, and Les has done a really good job in producing such a nice piece of work from such a challenged and challenging piece of wood. Les is a fine turner and it is evident that he has done practically all of the work with the tool and kept the sanding to an absolute minimum, as can be seen from the even thickness even where the walls consist mostly of the much softer bark. A fine piece, Les."
