IRWIN Tools celebrates its most successful National Tradesmen Day to date

Wednesday 9 October 2013

On Friday 20 September IRWIN Tools celebrated its most successful National Tradesmen Day to date, with many associated events held across the country, finally leading up to the big day itself.

Since 2012, IRWIN Tools has led the British public in saying 'Thank You' to the hard working trade professionals for always going that extra mile for their customers. Throughout September, the IRWIN team visited tool fairs and worksites the length and breadth of Britain, giving away thousands of free tools and gifts to tradesmen, in recognition of the great work they carry out all year round.

The National Tradesmen Day celebration took place all over the country with specific focus at Toolfair Elex at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry, where the team gave away over four thousand IRWIN tradesmen packs, which included an IRWIN T-Shirt, pens, water bottles, and of course, lots of free tools.

In the week leading up to National Tradesmen Day, IRWIN visited over 30 worksites around the UK, surprising builders, plumbers and electricians hard at work with exclusive IRWIN Tool giveaways and promotions.

To make National Tradesmen Day even bigger and better, the leading tool manufacturer launched exclusive competitions on the Facebook page and through regional newspapers with the opportunity to win huge prizes. IRWIN encouraged the public to nominate their favorite local tradesmen in celebration of National Tradesmen Day for the chance to win a trip to New York, and by entering on the IRWIN Facebook page fans could also win one of 20 £500 IRWIN toolkits.

IRWIN has also launched an initiative to provide funding for colleges and apprentices, in aid of the country’s future tradesmen, support that will have a significant bearing upon individuals and education, by providing high quality tools, at the outset of their careers.
