From this Autumn the ever-evolving Manchester Art Gallery will stock a large collection of MAKERS products in its retail space.
MAKERS products are future antiques. The finest quality interiors products from craftspeople that design & make unique work in Britain today.
Janine Fishwick, Managing Director of MAKERS says: "These new luxurious items will be wonderful for Manchester Art Gallery as it offers discerning visitors something they'd be hard pressed to source locally. It's a prestigious new venue for both local, national and internationally renowned craftspeople to show their skills to a huge new audience of over 400,000 visitors every year."
Textiles designers with a huge following such as Dionne Swift, furniture designers as revered as Robert Ingham, silversmiths with an international clientele such as Brett Payne and ceramicists of the pedigree of Jacqui Atkin are just some of the MAKERS. There will also be room for new talent such as Doug Williams, an exciting young Barnsley graduate currently making some of the most exquisite pieces of furniture.
MAKERS started life as an exhibition in May 2013 at CUBE Gallery. Since new director Dr Maria Balshaw took over the running of this gallery it has undergone a far-reaching programme of new innovations to ensure that it remains at the forefront of UK city galleries. Offering items for sale of such high quality is the latest improvement that will ensure this gallery continues to rise head and shoulders above others of its ilk.
Entry prices for MAKERS products start at £12 with larger pieces from well-known artists and the furniture retailing at £500+
