Noel Liogier has recently completed the development of the most aggressive hand-stitched rasp available. It has been evolving, then under test for some time and is now available.

Hand-stitched with an ultra-coarse grain tooth pattern, the 350mm length rasp is a No.3 grain. The 'Bastard' rasp is intended for very fast stock removal. So called after the tradition of calling very coarse files 'bastards', this rasp is the equivalent in wood removal, combining the abilities of a rasp and a coarse plane. It is extremely capable in handling wild grains, burrs etc, but also for general fast removal where a plane may struggle.
