It is with great sadness that we have to to bring you news of the passing of Dale Nish who was taken to hospital on 25 May when he suffered what was thought to be a heart attack; however, it was found that in fact he had a blood clot in his left lung. Unfortunately doctors were not able to resuscitate Dale and he sadly passed away soon after.

Dale was such a well-respected and well revered part of the turning community and will be greatly missed. He made a huge contribution to woodturning and will never be forgotten. Our thoughts are with his wife Sharon and his family at this difficult time.

A profile written by Mark Baker while on his recent trip to stay with Dale will feature in issue 256. The profile will also include the very latest photos of Dale and views of his extensive workshop and turning collection.

This world has lost a special friend and woodturner.
