Followers of all matters turning will be pleased to learn that Phil Irons will be demonstrating the range of Woodcut Tools at venues in the Midlands and the North West over the next few months.

As a teenager, Phil dabbled in turning and after a spell in the travel industry, during which he pursued turning as a hobby, he became a full time turner in 1994. He now has a thriving business, supplying several quality galleries, but admits he has done his fair share of production turning. Phil derives most pleasure and satisfaction from turning hollow forms, and has developed a range of surface decoration techniques. Phil also enjoys teaching and offers a number of courses at his workshop in Wellford-on-Avon. For more information about Phil, visit his website.

New Zealand based company Woodcut Tools and Phil have a long association spanning over 20 years. Woodcut manufactures a unique range of woodturning products offering innovation, quality and value. The company is best known for its lathe mounted Bowlsaver bowl coring system, Tru-Grind sharpening jigs and Pro-Forme hollowing tools.

Phil can be seen demonstrating Woodcut Tools at the following venues: Woodworks at Daventry - 11-12 May; Axminster Tool Centre, Nuneaton - 22 June (free entry); Axminster Tool Centre, Warrington - 20 July (free entry).

This is a great opportunity to see a master of his craft in action and not to be missed.
