After 200+ hours of continual cutting, collating & selecting 33 x A.2 images, blunting endless blades but managing to keep all of his digits intact, Master Craftsman, Dave Evans, has made his final cut of his magnificent 40,000 piece Diamond Jubilee Puzzle at sunny Brewer's Quay in Weymouth.

The world's press, plus craft enthusiasts from all over the globe have been watching as this remarkable feat has been live streamed over the internet, reaching out as far afield as Mexico and Cuba, to the northwest territories of Canada and even Australia.

Dave served his apprenticeship over 40 years ago at the renowned Victory wooden jigsaw puzzle manufacturers, who originally supplied Her Majesty with a copy of their top selling puzzle 'The Queen's Coronation' back in 1952. Dave's jigsaw was cut on an Excalibur EX-30 Scrollsaw and used the same methods utilised by jigsaw cutters 100 years ago.

Crowds gathered as Dave gave the honour of placing the very final piece to the image of Her Majesty the Queen, which takes pride of place in the centre of the enormous 19.5ft x 8ft creation and he enthused "I agreed with Guinness World Records that, out of respect for the Queen, I would prefer to work the puzzle pieces around her actual face, leaving it free for members of the public to enjoy"Â.

It will take a couple of weeks for Guinness World Records to process both the documentary & filming evidence before they can formally announce a new world record. Due to public demand, Dave will now be embarking on creating 100 x limited edition replicas of the Diamond Jubilee Puzzle in 1000 pieces which will be housed in bespoke boxes and include a copy of the DVD showing his incredible course to reach this point, plus a picture album and hopefully a copy of the Guinness World Record Certificate.

Dave also made an announcement at today's final that this amazing Jigsaw Puzzle will be donated to a Charity that is very dear to his heart - 'Help For Heroes'.

The puzzle will be transported to Sandringham Estate in Norfolk within the next couple of weeks whereby Dave will reconstruct it in the Queen's ballroom, alongside some of the 100,000 cards that were sent by members of the public to commemorate her wonderful Jubilee Year of 2012.
