Woodturning in Slovenia

The first woodturners' meeting focusing on 'artistic woodturning' will be held at Visoko pri Poljanah on 20 April, 2013. The event has been organised by the DUO Kunsthandwerk project and the meeting will be followed by an exhibition program.

During the event Slovenian woodturners will meet artists coming from the neighbouring countries. Aiming to present artistic woodturning to the wider public, this event will feature professional woodturners who will show masters will show techniques and display their work.

The exhibition will feature the turned piece of Stanislav Lamovsek, which will take place at the DUO Centre of Skofia Loka. In the small town of Sentjanz v Rozu in Carinthia (Austria) you will also be able to see pieces turned by masters from abroad. Finally, at the Stefan's House (where Ivo Subica was born) several turned spheres will be on display, all of which will be made from various types of timber.
