Old, disused furniture is usually thrown away or taken to car boot sales, but some clever people will pick it up in an attempt to give it new life, only to have it end up in the basement, labelled as 'future projects that will probably never happen.'
Brooke Dowd Sacco writs about how artist Marc Sparfel cleverly gives these pieces a new life: "He takes discarded pieces and turns them into sculptures that resemble animals that roam the Earth. The abandoned furniture becomes unique works of art to accompany a home's fresh finds. Antelopes, birds, giraffes, elephants, and more are surrealistic sculptures that will be treasured for years beyond the life of the furniture itself."
