Tuesday 5 February 2013
Over 250 skilled crafts people from all over the UK will bring you the very best in handmade gifts and treats. With unusual wares you wouldn’t often find on the high street, there's something for everyone from ceramics and glass to jewellery and paintings.
Brand new to this year’s show, Andrew Sinclair from The Sculpture School will be at the show ready to inspire, intrigue and fascinate audiences with his sculpture demonstrations. With a nod to classical sculpture Andrew will demonstrate traditional skills and techniques while highlighting the modern creativity and humour that can be brought alive.
Craft experts will be offering a series of Family Craft Workshops throughout the day including woodturning, paper making, decorative ceramics, and pyrography - there will be something for all of the family to take part in. To unlock the secrets of wire sculpting to create beautiful wares or the secret skills behind hazel hurdle making, pop along to the traditional crafts demonstrations where experts will be showing you how to get the most from traditional craft techniques.
Make sure you book your special advance combined ticket for just £10 and you can then visit Penshurst Place and Gardens and discover the secrets of this beautiful historic house. Come rain or shine, there is something for everyone at the Weald of Kent Craft Show this May Bank Holiday.
