At a glitzy ceremony organised by DIY Week Awards held in Manchester, Axminster Tool Centre was recognised for its business excellence and innovation in the retail sector, winning the award for 'Tool Retailer of the Year'.

The event brought together some of the biggest names in the industry to recognise and reward achievements in 15 categories, from Store Manager and Garden Retailer of the Year, to Power Tool and DIY Product of the Year.

The award was presented to Axminster Warrington store manager Phil Lewis and deputy manager Matt Youngs by comedian Terry Alderton, who also entertained guests with a stand-up set after dinner. Retail Development Director, Darran McLeod commented: "It is a privilege to be nominated for the awards and succeed against tough competition. Our innovation and constant attention to customer service and quality ensures we have a first class retail operation which we are all proud of. This award recognises what has been achieved and the extremely high standards everyone works to".

Axminster Tool Centre was shortlisted with two other companies in this category.
