This weekend, Turners Retreat will be holding a two day festival. The Doncaster-based store has attracted some star names from the woodturning world for its inaugural event which promises to be an extravaganza for those wanting to pick up tips and techniques as well as bargains in abundance from the many stores that will be present.
Mark Baker, editor of Woodturning and Woodcarving magazines will be performing three turning master classes each day, while Mick Hanbury will be demonstrating throughout the event and Colin Hickman will be demonstrating stick making.
Visitors can expect a host of stalls catering for all woodworking requirements and discounts of as much as 50% off retail prices. Robert Sorby, BriMarc, Ashley Iles, Camvac, Jet Machinery, Chestnut finishing products, Charnwood Machinery, and General Finishes will all be present at the show.
Entry is free other than for the Mark Baker master classes, where there will be a minimal charge and limited seating at each session. There will be plenty of refreshments available and parking is free and plentiful.
