Why not come to the Ryedale Folk Museum and the North Yorkshire moors this summer to our new and exciting 'Wonders of Wood' event. A wonderful weekend full of demonstrations and activities all about the uses of wood. Not only will there be carvers (Graham Gamble) and paper making among activities but also an amazing opportunity to see well know turner Philip Greenwood who will be demonstrating his skills on both days. As well as the modern makers of wooden crafts there will also have the more traditional skills on show with traditional turning on a pole lathe and a great opportunity to see some of the amazing treen items from the newly acquired 'Harrison Collection'. The Harrison items include some delicate and intricate work dating back to the 1700s from hand carved love tokens to detailed sugar moulds.
With turners, carvers, paper making and more it will be a great day out for all the family to learn all about the wonders of wood and how it has been used through the ages.
Standard museum admission fees apply no need for prior booking.
