Turners Look Forward to New Notts Show

Woodworkers across the UK will be delighted to hear there's a new event to add to this year's calendar.

Turners Retreat, the popular haven for woodturners and woodworkers across the country has announced a two day festival to brighten up the start to the new season in September.

The Doncaster based store has attracted some star names from the woodturning world for its inaugural event which promises to be an extravaganza for those wanting to pick up tips and techniques as well as bargains in abundance from the many stores that will be present.

Mark Baker, editor of Woodturning and Woodcarving magazines will be performing three turning master classes each day, while the equally illustrious Mick Hanbury will be spinning the wood throughout the event. Not to be outshone Colin Hickman will be demonstrating the intriguing art of stick making.

Visitors can expect a host of stalls catering for all woodworking requirements and discounts of as much as 50% off retail prices.

Hand tool specialist Robert Sorby will have a full team out to welcome everyone with the latest in a range of exciting new products.

Brimarc will be showcasing Leigh Jigs and Tormek sharpening wheels, whilst carving tool specialist Ashley Iles will be cutting it with a fine selection of its 400 tool range

Other stalls include: Camvac, Jet Machinery, Chestnut finishing products, Charnwood Machinery, and General Finishes. Sheffield's Spear and Jackson will also be there exhibiting its popular range of Predator saws, whilst Ron Van Zaltbommel from Holland, will be waxing lyrical about its finishing products Shellwax.

Entry is free other than for the Mark Baker master classes, where there will be a minimal charge and limited seating at each session.

There will be plenty of refreshments available, parking is free and plentiful and directions are simple with Turners Retreat located just off the A1 on the outskirts of Doncaster. Visit the website for further details.
