"Appreciating British craftsmanship"

Once again, Handmade in Britain is pleased to return to Chelsea Old Town Hall to showcase the best of contemporary British artists. Over 75 designer-makers across a range of disciplines such as jewellery, ceramics, fashion, interiors, furniture, metal, textiles and paper will exhibit their new collections. Their unique and limited edition pieces of work will be available as items to purchase or commission over the three days of the show.

Now in its fifth year, Handmade in Britain is dedicated to supporting and promoting British designer-makers on a national and international level. It is their initiative to maintain the high standards in the British craft sector, to create market opportunities for buying crafts as well as providing a platform to designer-makers who are new to business.

This year Handmade in Britain also announces the first in their series of design books. The book launch will coincide with the private viewing of this year's Chelsea Show on 27 October. The book, which features 90 British designer-makers, focuses not only on their work but also provides an insight to their design philosophy and inspirations. With over 200 images of contemporary work by different artists, this book is another attempt by Handmade in Britain to raise the profile of British craft worldwide.
