Peter Sefton Open Day

It’s been back to back shows this week with the PR Industrial tool show at the Amex Stadium in Brighton last weekend and Peter Sefton’s Furniture School open day tomorrow, Saturday 14th.

The Brighton show was a roaring success and with everyone truly focussed on the main event of the day it’s set to be equally as popular next year.

The organisers made sure that nobody missed a stroke including those chaps from Makita by streaming the Wimbledon Final live throughout the concourse. Now there’s dedication for you.

I’m travelling up from the South coast with Woodworking Plans & Projects Editor Anthony Bailey first thing in the morning to Peter Sefton’s. Mr. Bailey will be demonstrating router techniques involving jigs and judging by the number he’s stuffed into the back of the car, he’s planning on staying for a fortnight.

There’s plenty more to see and do including a barbecue and other light refreshments, so if you’re in the neighbourhood, do pop in and say hello. It’s a good opportunity to grab a magazine subscription bargain as we still have a few Bosch impact drivers to give away. Stocks are limited and we’re only there for the day so be sure to come along early. As they say ‘once they’re gone, they’re gone’.

We’ve also put the September issue of F&C (196) to bed this week. You might have noticed a few tweaks to the layout and content creeping in which are all part and parcel of a minor overhaul. I quite enjoy the process of change at times, when things run smoothly that is, and for the most part it has been a slick operation.

That’s it, there’s only room for hand luggage in the car now so have a great weekend.
