It’s Friday afternoon and I’m packing up shop early to get ready for the D&M show tomorrow www.thetoolshow.com. Of course by now a great number of you will have already been through the doors of the show that gets bigger each year. I’ll be on parade from 10.00 as the doors open and look forward to talking tools with you for the rest of the day and Sunday.

It’s the first year Festool have been at the show and I happen to know they’ve got some great new kit to show. There are around 40 big brands this year so why not come along and meet the people and faces behind your favorite tools and equipment. Many of the manufacturers will have their largest displays put together for an exhibition in the U.K this year, most with working demonstrations. In this neck of the woods it’s the best place to get hands on with kit to try before you buy. Payment at the show could not be easier with 15 cashiers accepting cash and all major credit & debit cards. Beware. There are likely to be offers you can’t refuse. The one that springs to mind obviously is to take out a years subscription to Furniture & Cabinetmaking for £47 and walk away with a Bosch GSR Mx2 Drive cordless driver worth £82.80.

This pocket size screwdriver has innovative 2 speed gear technology with non-stop gear shifting. With the high torque it really is a small power house and will drive in screws up to 6 x 60mm in soft wood. Powered by Li-Ion technology the 3.6V battery will deliver up to 10Nm of torque and is suitable for a lot of trades especially kitchen fitters. It is very compact in size and has a hex locking bit holder motor brake and LED light. Supplied complete with 2 x 1.3Ah batteries charger and storage case.

I’ve had the predecessor of this machine for a couple of years and rate it. So seriously, get your hands on one of these for £47 and you wont regret it.

See you there I hope

Derek
