It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these and one would think there was a lot to catch up on. I’m sure there is but nothing springs to mind. Right now I’m looking forward to the Talking Tools Show at Axminster this weekend. If you’re planning on going and our paths cross come and say hello. I should be there Friday pm and Saturday am.
You may have noticed that we have a few new authors on board and a few more in the pipline. Some you will certainly have heard of and some not but each with plenty to add and often a different angle on the norm. It’s amazing how many folk I talk to who say that they have thought of writing but never quite get round to it. It’s a common theme perhaps as most of us have projects that haven’t quite managed to get off the drawing board. Believe it or not there was a time not that long ago that I was happy with the thought of not making furniture. Observing and writing about other people doing it satisfied my creative urge. But after several ‘no’s’ I caved in last week and agreed to get back to the bench. Fortunately there’s a long leadtime so plenty of time to brush up on some hand tool skills. Having talked the talk for twenty issues it’s time to walk the walk at the same time. I’ll try and find the time to keep you posted.
