And now for something completely different

There are times in every creative process when things just don’t seem to gel, things that usually flow naturally become a struggle and results become thin on the ground. Over the years I’ve come to recognise the signs and if caught early enough I can adjust to the situation and begin to turn things around. Before you get too excited I haven’t got a light-bulb moment to share with you or anything like that. Quite the opposite in fact. When things get to that stage I switch the light off and go and do something else. Something completely unrelated and as far removed from the current dilemma as possible. Now it just seems to be that this usually coincides with the weekend and the weekend just gone was no exception. And what do you know? Monday morning, mojo fully restored, ideas and threads of ideas coming from all directions. Normal transmission resumed.

So what’s in store for the rest of the week? Meetings with two manufacturers to get a sneak preview of some new machinery, a test or two and the cover-shoot for 162. Doesn’t sound like much when you put it into one sentence but honestly there’s a lot more going on besides, it just hasn’t made it on to my list yet. And as they say “if your name’s not on the list you’re not getting in”.

Speak to you before the week’s out.
