John Jordan hollow forms have always been a favourite of mine so here's my attempts.
7.5" and 9" tall. Wood is maple from my front yard felled last August and still very green.
One coat of 1:1:1 oil mix and left to dry sitting on top of the fridge where there's an almost constant stream of warm air. Wall thickness is around 1/2". Texturing done with Sorby texture Tool

Comments, good and bad welcomed as usual
Pete

Thanks guys. John Jordan has been an inspiration and I'm not 100% happy with my versions but you have to start somewhere, right?

I like the smaller version best, smooth curve transition control without any hint of a flat is where I struggle with such.
Keep wanting to lift 'the lid' on those to see what's inside.

Thanks Chas but the "lids" are all glued in
As they dry so they warp. So transitions can improve or not
My eye tells me to make the foot smaller next time and checking John Jordan's stuff it looks like that would be the way to go.
