This is a straightforward piece of turning, but I thought members might like to see the inlay. It is an Indonesian printing block I picked up in an Amsterdam market some years ago with this in mind, and I have finally got round to using it. The box is sapele, height 72mm, diameter 69mm. The printing block is some sort of hardwood, chiselled into a rough circle and fits much better than I expected.
And if anyone with a knowledge of Indonesian can tell me what the symbol means, I would love to know. Hopefully it's not naughty!

It is strange the way we see things and think that it will come in handy for one of our projects. Nice looking box
