Hello, I am a GCSE design student, and I am making a wooden coffee table for my coursework, as a potential stakeholder of the product, what do you think is the most important aspect of the design that I should consider, and are there any specific needs or requirements you feel the product should meet ?

Many thanks

As an ex D&T teacher and one of the last of the old fashioned 'woodwork' specialists there are a number of obvious things that you need to consider for a coffee table project. Size so length, width and height? Shelf underneath or storage of some sort underneath; drawer maybe? Bullet proof and heatproof finish also, particularly on the top. Material (solid wood framework and top or something different) Construction? Style...scandi, mid-20th Cent etc?
This is a list for starters but you could probably add other stuff to it. I'd suggest looking on Pinterest to see a multitude of different ideas - Rob
