Lancaster Woodcarvers announce 39th Annual Woodcarving and Wildlife Art Festival - News

Those present at this annual event will be caricature carver, Dennis Thornton, who will be the featured carver. The theme for this year's event will be "God Bless America".

American National Cane Club (ANCC) will have an exhibit of carved canes and Conewago Carvers will have an exhibit of their club members.

Demonstrations and lectures will be given by various carvers including Dennis Thornton, as well as a variety of other local carvers. Many pieces of original work by carvers and other artists will be available.

Woodcarving Illustrated and Fox Chapel Publishing are planning to host an area called [b['Spit and Whittle' for carvers and attendees to sit and share information and

to carve and to watch some demonstrations.

Competition:

A competition of woodcarvings and wildlife art will also be held; more details can be found via the website. The competition is open to club members and show exhibitors only. Also, a Silent Auction will be held for a limited number of carvings and wildlife art donated by exhibitors and club members.
