Makita 10.8V Cordless Impact Wrench - News

Makita is expanding further the popular 10.8v cordless power tool range. A new 10mm (3/8in) square drive impact wrench, a pink limited edition charity version of the popular DF330D drill driver, and a new three-item kit of drill, impact driver and torch packaged in a stylish aluminium case, expands the range. There is also an 85mm circular saw, vac unit and further kits, with further 10.8v additions to the range planned for 2012.

These Makita power tools are compact and lightweight - the latest impact wrench weighs less than 1 kg but delivers remarkable power. The DF330D 2-speed drill driver generates up to 24 Nm of torque and can comfortably punch a 10mm hole in steel whilst the latest impact wrench will drive home an M12 bolt with a massive 110Nm of torque. Even the 6mm (¼in) hex-drive impact driver will drive home an M10 high tensile bolt with 90Nm of torque. This level of power, coupled with such diminutive size, makes these very useful tools essential in the confined spaces of cupboard and fitted furniture installation.

The new Makita TW100D impact wrench generates up to 3,000 impacts per minute and will run up to 2,300rpm without load. The 110Nm of usable torque will drive home an M10 bolt. Weighing just 0.95kg and measuring only 193mm from face of chuck to rear of motor body, it is 180mm in overall height making this one of the most powerful, versatile and compact power tools available anywhere. The comfortable soft-grip, ergonomic design of body handle, with variable speed trigger, gives a perfect balance with maximum control. The TW100D has an electronic brake and LED job light and is supplied with two 1.3Ah Lithium-ion batteries, charger and carry case.

Makita now offers four kits in the 10.8v range featuring the drill driver and hex-drive impact driver in either traditional Makita blue or the stylish black and white trim. The LCT303W kit includes a useful LED torch. The latest LCT305W kits include a torch with handy ‘grab’ legs alongside the 2-speed drill driver and hex-drive impact driver. All kits include two Lithium-ion batteries, charger and aluminium case.

The pink version of the 2-speed drill driver has been especially manufactured by Makita in support of the Breast Cancer Care charity and £5 from every sale of this tool is being donated to the important charity that provides research and support to patients and the families of victims. One person is diagnosed with this disease every 10 minutes and it affects around 300 men each year. Makita’s pink drill is delivered with one 1.3Ah Lithium-ion battery, charger, drill bit set and strong, soft shell case.
