1.Start, as always, by marking out your plank according to the drawing

How lovely it would be to have breakfast brought to you in bed every morning. Unfortunately for most of us, it is a rare luxury. However, on those special occasions when it does happen, it is important to have the right sort of breakfast tray. A normal tray is hard to balance in bed and the last thing you want is a coffee-soaked duvet or marmalade on your pillow.

Here is a design for a dual-purpose tray with folding legs that will stand securely on the bed, with legs extended, or can be used with the legs folded.

you will need

1. Measuring marking tools

2. Table or mitre saw

3. Biscuit jointer & biscuits

4. Disc sander

5. Drum sander

6. Jigsaw or coping saw

7. Bearing guided rounding over cutter on a router table

8. Cordless drill or pillar drill

9. Clamps

10. Screws

11. Glue
