One of the things I like about Bank Holidays is that it allows me to not only get a break but by taking the previous Friday off before the Bank Holiday I can make it into a long weekend without actually using much of my allotted holiday allowance. Thus it was, and the chance to enjoy the sun when it deigned to appear, and to work outside for most of it. My back garden is a riot of outbuildings all with felted roofs. I am busy trying to get everything done before travelling to Provo, USA next week. It is always fun to travel but as with everything, there is always a knock on. I will enjoy meeting up with people at the symposium and seeing what they have been making and catching up with stories, events, life and such like. There is a wondrous element to carving and that is that we can choose to carve almost anything we see or can imagine as subject matter – skill and rights, etc. permitting.
