Lungs and Dust

Happy New Year everyone.
I have to apologise for being completely out of action in December because I came down with a chest infection. I don't think it was in anyway due to woodworking but wood-dust cannot have helped my lungs over the years. I'm a bit of a fuss-pot with regard to dust and do wear my trusty Racal Dan-Dare face mask for all routing and Hoover up after each process as if I was in an operating theatre, but I think the damage ...

Christmas cheer? Probably.

Well, you know how it is. It's easy to be a little bit 'humbug' about the whole furore. The recession grinds ever harder, the weathers got decidedly bitter... it's hardly inspiring. However, the mood was lightened this weekend when I was asked, along with some friends, to help build and paint scenery for the local nativity play being conducted by host of eager children. New year, new blog

I’m back at work now and playing catch-up with the things that have built up during my week off. That is the price for daring to take a holiday, but it is worth it though! I must admit to having slacked-off during the break. I went into the workshop once during my break and that was not for turning. The security lock on the front door broke and I needed to fix or replace it. In this case fixed it, I also needed to edge a mat well near the kitchen...

So how was it for you?
I am now back at work having had a few days off over the Christmas season. And my first day back is filled with snow. How wonderful!
Christmas was a good time for me, spent with family and friends, and plenty of rest, plus I was able to finish off the bathroom finally, as well as having all the radiators in the house working – we had been running just three radiators in all for the past year so to have a fully warm house ...
